Sails for coastal cruising
Coastal cruising happens mostly in confined waters, such as the unique Finnish archipelago, in daytime and in moderate winds. If bad weather occurs you stay ashore, or a safe harbour is within reach in hours. Sails for coastal waters can be engineered in a more simple way: they are usually cross-cut especially if the boat is not over 35ft. The sails for coastal cruising don’t require as much reinforcements, reefs or stitching as sails conceived for open waters and are thus more economical, too.
